Dedication

24 timorese came from a faraway land

To see and learn all that they can...

Scared was I to see them all

doubted if I could handle them at all.

Soon they warmed up and spread their smiles

happiness all over SJEC and across the miles

Fathers and teachers and friends alike

began to fall for their charms in no time.

But soon tempers began to fly

Teachers too had to shout and make them cry.

Little by little progress they made

Universe and beyond did come to our aid

As I sit to write some lines today

To remember after the farewell day

I realised I am blessed with 24 angels

P.S. wrote this as a gift to all my students before they left to their country..

The Tree of Knowledge

The Tree of knowledge beckons you all
To taste the forbidden apple.
Ten in number have we got them for you
Each giving you the knowledge right.
Hidden from all eyes, beneath the seat
Find them and be rich.
And hence I sing this song to you
Find them and be rich!

I am forgotten here, No one comes to me anymore
While my friend lies in one of your classrooms
Old and battered in the floor high above.
My dear brother a pompous snob,
Gets to see the events with the mob.
And my father is so tall a guy
Bigger hall you need for him to buy.
My mother dear all so sweet
Seated with the lady in waiting
Waiting and Watching, people come by.
Near her sit five black men
And there lives my cousin Ben.
Loves the bare cushion, my sister so
Lies next to it, very low.
My granny lives alone below
Hidden in an underground cell
Food is what my Uncle loves
Eat and drink is what he is doing now.
Best of all is my baby bright
Hiding away from the limelight.
Five black men guard her tight
Now begone and find them all right.

P.s. This was a part of the treasure hunt that was organised by Me and the juniors for the final year students. The task was to decipher the clues and find the treasure:)
